Bitcoin Gets the Drake Co-sign
In 2024, I launched a Bitcoin-themed Instagram account, and one of my reels went viral—earning 3.3 million views after Drake reposted it.
Backstory
Leading up to January 10, 2024 — the day the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved the first 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs — I noticed a massive wave of Bitcoin-related content spreading across X. Clips from CNBC and other major financial networks, Bitcoin infographics, memes, and market commentary were being posted nonstop.
I felt there should be one curated destination where people could easily discover the best Bitcoin content in one place. Since I was already spending hours on X — and because videos and images could quickly be saved and reposted — I decided to launch a dedicated Instagram account focused on curating the most compelling Bitcoin content online.
The timing turned out to be perfect. The market was emerging from the crypto winter phase of Bitcoin’s four-year cycle and entering a new growth period, sparking an explosion of fresh content and renewed public interest in the asset.
As the account grew, one of my reels was eventually reposted by Drake, providing a major catalyst for the page’s growth and visibility. I still actively post today, especially as Bitcoin approaches all-time highs, when public interest, engagement, and viewership tend to surge again.
