COLD OPEN

EXT. WORLD-TREE CORRUPTION ZONE — NIGHT

A crimson storm circles the towering corrupted world-tree. Lightning cracks in spiraling arcs, illuminating massive spirit fissures spreading across the landscape like glowing veins.

Close-up:
A stone prophecy tablet sits half-buried in rubble, its ancient runes flickering with a weak emerald glow.

A sudden CRACK splits the ground beneath it.
The tablet fractures—

—revealing a hidden layer of inscriptions, glowing faintly.

The camera pushes in as a breeze whispers through the runes.

Whisper (echoing, ancient):
“…Body, Mind… Heart…
Only together shatter the Crown…”

CUT TO BLACK.

TITLE CARD — “The Fractured Prophecy”

ACT I

SCENE 1 — RANGER CABIN WAR ROOM

INT. RANGER CABIN — NIGHT

Maps, spirit readings, and Maya’s glowing screens illuminate the dim cabin interior.
Ranger Liu stands beside the window, looking out at the red sky in fear.

Toki sits in the center of the room, weak but alert. TokiToki presses a warm compress to his paw, worried.

MAYA
(pacing)
These energy spikes aren’t localized anymore.
Shen is… rewriting the spirit network.
Everything connected to the Green Pulse is destabilizing.

She pulls up a holographic map of Asia.
Dozens of red blinking nodes pulse like infected wounds.

TOKITOKI
So… he’s basically poisoning the whole world?

MAYA
(softly)
Not poisoning. Controlling.

Toki growls — a heavy, low sound.

Ranger Liu turns.

RANGER LIU
Toki, what happened out there earlier — those power surges?
Can you control them?

Toki shakes his head sadly.

Elder Shan materializes in the corner of the room, his light calmer than the storm outside.

ELDER SHAN
Young Guardian… your powers unravel because the staff that once guided you is no more.
The Overlord’s influence twists your nature, forcing your spirit into imbalance.

Toki lowers his head, ashamed.

TokiToki puts a hand on his cheek.

TOKITOKI
Hey. No.
This isn’t your fault.
We’re going to help you.
All of us.

Toki gives her a grateful nod.

SCENE 2 — THE BROKEN TABLET

INT. RANGER CABIN — LATER

Maya zooms in on a satellite scan of the cracked prophecy tablet from the cold open.

Her eyes widen.

MAYA
Guys… I think we just found something huge.

Toki and TokiToki rush over.

Maya overlays the new runes onto the known prophecy text.

The tablet glows on-screen:

THE FULL PROPHECY (Translated)

“When Overlord rises and the Forest Crown breaks,
The Last Guardian awakens with trembling soul.
But the Guardian alone cannot mend the Pulse.
Only the Trinity united — Body, Mind, and Heart —
May shatter the Overlord’s Crown and restore the world.”

TokiToki blinks.

TOKITOKI
So… Toki is Body…
I’m Heart…
And Mind is… Maya, right?

Maya stops breathing for a moment.

MAYA
(quietly)
It has to be. The ancient murals showed two humans…
One emotional… one analytical.
Heart and Mind.

She looks at Toki, then TokiToki, then away.

MAYA (CONT'D)
So I’m part of this too.
The prophecy always meant the three of us.

Elder Shan steps forward.

ELDER SHAN
And yet… the prophecy was hidden.
For a reason.

The room chills.

ACT II

SCENE 3 — WHY THE PROPHECY WAS FRACTURED

INT. RANGER CABIN — SAME

Elder Shan reveals the truth:

ELDER SHAN
The ancient Guardians fractured the prophecy to protect their children.
The cost of shattering the Overlord’s Crown is…
devastating.

Toki’s eyes widen.

TokiToki grips his paw tightly.

TOKITOKI
What cost?

Elder Shan hesitates.

ELDER SHAN
The ritual drains the Guardian’s life-force.
The Body — the Guardian — may not survive.

TokiToki’s face falls.

Maya gasps.

Toki sits perfectly still.
A long, painful silence.

TOKITOKI
(no)
No.
No.
We’re not doing this.
We’re NOT losing Toki.
There has to be another way!

She turns to Elder Shan, angry for the first time.

TOKITOKI
Why didn’t you TELL US?!

ELDER SHAN
Because destiny is a burden too heavy for children.
But time is no longer merciful.

Toki places his huge paw gently over TokiToki’s hand, calming her.

He gives her a soft smile, though his own eyes glisten.

SCENE 4 — TOKI’S FEAR

EXT. RANGER CABIN PORCH — NIGHT

Toki steps outside alone.
The forest glows faintly red in the distance.

Maya follows him quietly.

MAYA
You knew… didn’t you?
You felt it.

Toki nods slowly.

Maya sits beside him.

MAYA (CONT'D)
I’m scared too, you know.
I’m supposed to be the “Mind,” but nothing about this makes sense.
How can saving the world require losing the person who is the world to her?

Toki looks down at her with a gentle sadness.

He signs/claws quietly in panda-body language — Maya has learned enough to parse:

“I want to live.
But I will protect them first.”

Maya’s eyes fill.

MAYA
We’ll find another way.
I swear it.

Behind them, TokiToki watches silently from the doorway — hearing everything.

A tear falls down her cheek.

ACT III

SCENE 5 — FIRST SIGNS OF THE OVERLORD

EXT. FOREST RIM — PRE-DAWN

The trio investigates a massive spirit fissure glowing like lava.

Suddenly—

A humanoid silhouette forms within the glow.
Tall. Bamboo-lined. Eyes blazing emerald and red.

It flickers like a broken hologram.

The voice is layered — Shen’s voice beneath something ancient and monstrous.

THE OVERLORD
(whispering)
Guardian…
Give… in…

Toki staggers backward as the creature’s aura slams into him.

TokiToki runs to his side.

TOKITOKI
Toki! Stay with me!

The Overlord’s voice deepens.

THE OVERLORD
You cannot stop destiny.
Only I can save this world.

Maya steps forward with unexpected defiance.

MAYA
You’re not saving anything.
You’re breaking it!

The Overlord’s form twists.

THE OVERLORD
Shen… is gone.
I remain.

But in a brief flicker —
Toki sees Shen’s terrified human face trapped inside.

SHEN (faint)
Help… me…

The vision collapses.

SCENE 6 — THREE AGAINST FATE

EXT. CLEARING — SUNRISE

Toki, TokiToki, and Maya stand where the fissure was.
The ground smolders.

They’re shaken.
More determined than ever.

MAYA
(echoing prophecy)
Body. Mind. Heart.

TokiToki nods slowly.

TOKITOKI
Then we do this together.
And we find a way to save Toki.
Whatever it takes.

Toki stands tall, aura flickering but resolute.

The three join hands — Toki placing his huge paw gently atop theirs.

The morning sun rises behind them.

Elder Shan appears one last time, voice solemn.

ELDER SHAN
Then the journey begins.
To restore the Guardian…
You must cross into the Spirit Astral Plane.

TokiToki inhales sharply.

Maya’s eyes go wide.

Toki steadies himself.

Shan raises his staff.

The world shifts — the forest bending, colors warping into swirling emerald light.

ELDER SHAN
Come.
The fate of both worlds awaits.

FADE OUT.
