“Storm Over Lóngshān”

COLD OPEN

EXT. LÓNGSHĀN MOUNTAINS — BEFORE DAWN

Thunder rumbles unnaturally in a sky still dark. Clouds churn in spirals, tinted with eerie green light. Birds flee. Animals stampede downhill.

In the forest below—

Toki sits upright, awake.
His staff glows violently.
Lightning crackles along its length.

TokiToki runs to him in pajamas.

TokiToki
Toki? What’s going on?
Are you okay?

A massive boom shakes the mountain.

Toki stands.
His eyes glow emerald.
His fur bristles with static.

CUT TO TITLE CARD:
“STORM OVER LÓNGSHĀN”

ACT I

SCENE 1 — THE STORM BEGINS

EXT. RANGER CABIN – EARLY MORNING

Ranger Liu bursts out the door holding weather instruments.

Ranger Liu
This storm isn’t natural.
It appeared out of nowhere—and the energy reading is off the charts!

Maya scans the sky.

Maya
It’s pulling power from the forest.
Some of the lightning bolts contain spirit energy.

Kin puts his hand on the earth, sensing vibrations.

Kin
This is the Shattering Pulse…
Its awakening has begun.

Toki growls deeply, gripping his staff.

Suddenly—

A bolt of green lightning crashes near them, exploding earth into the air.

Toki shields everyone, the staff vibrating violently.

TokiToki stares in shock.

TokiToki
Toki…
The storm is trying to hit YOU.

Kin nods.

Kin
The staff is a conduit.
Shen is using the storm to destabilize it.

Ranger Liu looks grim.

Ranger Liu
Then we need to get to higher ground—
NOW.

SCENE 2 — THE CLIMB TO THE RIDGE

EXT. MOUNTAIN TRAIL – MORNING

The group treks up the mountain under a raging sky.

Winds whip violently.
Green lightning strikes the mountainside repeatedly.
Trees uproot.
Rocks tumble down.

Toki leads, staff absorbing stray energy bursts.

Maya reviews data on her tablet.

Maya
This storm is… syncing with something.
Like it’s being guided.
Someone’s controlling it.

Kin closes his eyes.

Kin
Not someone.
Something.
The Pulse has begun its own will.

Toki grunts with concern.

Another bolt detonates ahead, blocking the path with debris.

Toki slams his staff down—
A shockwave clears the rubble.

The team continues.

SCENE 3 — THE VILLAGE IN DANGER

EXT. MOUNTAIN VILLAGE – LATER

They reach the same village from Episode 5.

It’s in chaos.

Wind rips lanterns from strings.
Roofs lift.
Children cry.
Villagers struggle to secure their homes.

TokiToki runs forward.

TokiToki
We have to help them!

Ranger Liu nods.

Ranger Liu
Toki, Kin — secure the square!
Maya — shut off the electric lines before they arc!
TokiToki — with me!

MONTAGE — RESCUE CHAOS

• Toki lifts a collapsing bamboo beam off two villagers.

• Kin plays flute notes that generate calming wind pockets, stabilizing debris.

• Maya defuses a power surge threatening to explode.

• TokiToki helps carry supplies and comfort terrified kids.

• Villagers look at Toki with awe and gratitude—despite the fear.

END MONTAGE

Toki looks up at the swirling storm.

Lightning intensifies.

Maya checks her scanner.

Maya
The epicenter…
is the Heartwood Tower.

Everyone turns to the mountain summit.

Kin steps forward.

Kin
The Pulse is calling to the Guardian.
We must answer.

ACT II

SCENE 4 — THE LIGHTNING PANIC

EXT. STEEP CLIFF TRAIL – AFTERNOON

As they ascend, lightning repeatedly targets Toki.

Toki shields TokiToki as rocks explode around them.
Smoke fills the air.

Kin lifts his broken flute.

Kin
I can redirect a few bolts…
But not many.

Maya checks her tablet.

Maya
The storm’s energy pattern is accelerating!
If Toki absorbs too much at once—
his aura could fracture again!

Toki grits his teeth and pushes onward.

A lightning bolt hits him directly.

KRAKOOM!

Toki slams into a boulder.

TokiToki screams.

TokiToki
TOKI!!!

He rises slowly—fur smoking—staff glowing brighter than before.

Kin’s eyes widen.

Kin
The lightning…
He’s absorbing it.

Toki raises his staff and absorbs another bolt.

Then another.

He roars—
sending a shockwave of emerald energy into the sky, briefly calming the storm overhead.

TokiToki runs to him, hugging him fiercely.

TokiToki
Don’t EVER scare me like that again!

Toki pats her head apologetically.

SCENE 5 — THE SPIRIT WARNING

EXT. MOUNTAIN LEDGE – LATE AFTERNOON

They pause to rest.

The storm light dims.
A soft golden glow forms beside Toki.

The spirit deer from Episode 7 appears, trembling.

Kin kneels.

Kin
What is it?
What do you see?

The deer projects a glowing vision:

Heartwood Tower being struck by repeated bolts of energy.
Shen working inside a chamber of green fire.
General Sable guarding a massive machine.
A fractured spirit-heart pulsing like a heartbeat.

Ranger Liu
Shen is ahead of schedule.

Maya
He’s amplifying the storm to charge the Pulse!

The deer’s projection flickers—
Then shows a silhouette of…

Toki collapsing
and
TokiToki falling backward in shock.

TokiToki gasps, covering her mouth.

Toki’s eyes widen with fear and rage.

The deer vanishes.

Kin stands.

Kin
The forest has shown us the future.
But the future is not fixed.

Ranger Liu tightens his grip on a rope.

Ranger Liu
Then we make sure that vision NEVER happens.

ACT III

SCENE 6 — THE FINAL ASCENT

EXT. UPPER RIDGE – SUNSET

The storm worsens.
Lightning forms spirals overhead.
The wind howls like screams.

The group climbs the last stretch:

• Narrow cliffs

• Falling rocks

• Lightning forks hitting mere feet away

• Glowing fissures in the earth

Kin uses spirit wind-techniques to shield them.
Toki leaps and blocks debris.
Maya navigates the safest route.
Ranger Liu physically anchors ropes.
TokiToki encourages everyone nonstop.

At the final cliff…

A massive lightning bolt strikes.

BOOOM—

Toki leaps in front of the group and absorbs it.

A burst of emerald fire erupts from the staff.

When the light fades—

Toki’s silhouette is changed:

His fur streaked with glowing lines
His eyes brighter
His staff humming with power
A new ability unlocked:

STORMGUARD MODE
Where Toki channels environmental energy, not just spirit energy.

Kin gasps.

Kin
The storm did not weaken him…
It awakened him.

Toki looks at his paws in awe.

TokiToki beams.

TokiToki
Toki…
You leveled up again!

SCENE 7 — ON TOP OF THE WORLD

EXT. HEARTWOOD SUMMIT – NIGHT

They reach the summit.

The storm clouds swirl above a tall, ancient tower made of living wood and glowing roots — now corrupted with metallic implants.

Lightning repeatedly strikes the tower’s peak—charging a massive machine emitting a deep, ominous hum.

Kin steps forward.

Kin
This is the Heartwood Tower.
The birthplace of the first Guardian.

Ranger Liu narrows his eyes.

Ranger Liu
And now… Shen’s power source.

A final lightning bolt reveals:

General Sable standing guard, her armor glowing.

She turns slowly.

General Sable
So…
you survived the storm.

Toki snarls.

TokiToki steps beside him.

TokiToki
We’re not afraid of you.

Sable smiles coldly.

General Sable
Then allow me to change that.

Behind her…
the tower pulses—
and the heart of the Shattering Pulse awakens.

Fade out on a massive bolt of lightning illuminating Toki and Sable facing each other.
