“The Feller Fortress”

COLD OPEN

EXT. HEARTWOOD SUMMIT – NIGHT

Wind whips through the burned treetops. The storm still churns overhead, but now the lightning is focused, pulled toward a single place:

A towering, jagged structure burrowed into the mountainside.

Green and red aura veins pulse along its walls like heartbeat lines.

THE FELLER FORTRESS.

Inside the fortress, a shadowy figure stands before a massive chamber of swirling green energy.

DR. SHEN — his eyes faintly glowing, his skin lined with green cracks — watches the storm funnel into the tower’s core.

Shen
Soon… the Pulse will emerge.
And nature will kneel.

He tightens his gloved hand.

A corrupted spirit-beast growls from within a containment pod, struggling against electrified roots.

Shen smiles faintly.

CUT TO TITLE CARD:
“THE FELLER FORTRESS”

ACT I

SCENE 1 — PLANNING THE INFILTRATION

EXT. FOREST BASE CAMP – NIGHT

The team gathers around a holographic projection Maya created using Toki’s staff and her tablet.

The fortress interior appears in glowing green lines.

Maya
Okay… so the fortress is powered by three primary energy nodes.
If we shut down even one, the entire Pulse charging system destabilizes.

Kin
And Shen cannot risk a failed charge.
It could destroy the mountain.

Ranger Liu nods grimly.

Ranger Liu
Then we hit all three.
Fast. Quiet. Precise.

TokiToki raises her hand confidently.

TokiToki
What’s my job?!

Maya flips to another projection.

Maya
You go with me.
We handle the east node.
It’s the one covered in tech, not monsters.

TokiToki looks simultaneously relieved and disappointed.

Kin
I will take the upper node.
Its defenses are spiritual.
Only I can pass through them.

Ranger Liu looks at Toki.

Ranger Liu
And you and I will take the central chamber.
We’ll be closest to Shen.

Toki nods, resolute.

Kin steps forward, placing his hand on the projection.

Kin
Tonight, the Fortress falls.
Or the forest does.

SCENE 2 — APPROACHING THE FORTRESS

EXT. FELLER FORTRESS – NIGHT

The group moves stealthily among massive roots, rubble, and mechanical cables pulsing with energy.

Toki’s staff glows softly, guiding their steps.

They reach the base of the fortress — metal fused with corrupted bamboo, forming a grotesque hybrid of nature and machinery.

Suddenly —

CLANG—HISS—

A mechanical Sentinel Beast prowls along a ridge above them — a wolf-like creature of metal ribs and spirit-fire eyes.

Everyone freezes.

The beast pauses, sniffs the air…

Then moves on.

TokiToki exhales shakily.

TokiToki
So this is what you get when you cross a wolf, a ghost, and a blender…

Maya elbows her.

They reach the fortress entrance — a massive sliding door carved into the mountainside.

Kin places his flute fragment to the door’s surface.

The door melts open silently.

The infiltration begins.

ACT II

SCENE 3 — SPLITTING UP

The team enters a massive interior atrium: dim green lighting, tangled roots, humming machines, and flowing tubes of aura.

They split immediately.

TEAM 1: MAYA & TOKITOKI — EAST NODE

They creep along a narrow walkway suspended over a pool of glowing green liquid.

TokiToki whispers:

TokiToki
So… don’t fall in?

Maya
If you do, you’ll glow for the rest of your life.
Possibly explode.
Definitely something weird.

TokiToki gulps.

They reach a terminal defended by two patrolling drones.

Maya hacks from afar.

TokiToki tiptoes behind the drones —
accidentally steps on one of their shadows —
they whirl around—

TokiToki
Eep—!

TokiToki throws a flash-seed at their feet.

POP—
The drones flail, blinded.

Maya rips out the node’s power crystal.

The lights flicker.

Node One DOWN.

TEAM 2: KIN — SPIRIT NODE

Kin climbs a spiraling staircase of roots and floating stones.

Ghostly voices whisper around him.

Spirits
Test… prove… reveal…

Kin’s eyes harden.

At the top sits an altar surrounded by swirling spirit wards.

Kin raises the flute fragment.

He plays a resonance note —
the wards twist and thin —
but the storm energy corrupts them.

They lunge at him like tendrils.

Kin closes his eyes, then plays his mother’s lullaby — the one Elder Shan taught him.

The wards soften… dissolve… and vanish.

He touches the spirit node.

Node Two DOWN.

TEAM 3: TOKI & RANGER LIU — THE CENTRAL NODE

They walk through a long hallway lined with cracked mirrors that reflect distorted versions of Toki:

One showing him enraged
One showing him weak
One showing him alone
One showing him corrupted

Toki trembles.

Ranger Liu puts a hand on his shoulder.

Ranger Liu
These are lies.
You’re stronger than all of them.

Toki nods.

They reach the central chamber — a massive crystalline reactor pulsing with storm energy.

A dozen Sentinel Beasts sleep around it.

Liu whispers:

Ranger Liu
We shut this down quietly…
or we don’t get out alive.

They approach—

The wind changes.

Toki’s staff glows.

The beasts wake.

Ranger Liu curses.

Ranger Liu
So much for quiet.

SCENE 4 — THE CENTRAL BATTLE

Sentinel Beasts attack from all sides.

Toki leaps, swinging his staff with precise, controlled strikes — he’s stronger than ever.

Ranger Liu dodges, rolls, uses flash pellets and snare cords.

Toki protects him at every turn.

But the beasts keep coming.

One leaps toward Liu—

Toki dives, intercepting the attack with a roar.

Kin’s voice crackles through a communicator:

Kin (over comm)
The nodes are down!
Pull back to the extraction point!

But Toki refuses to leave the central node active.

He slams his staff into it.

A massive surge of energy erupts—

Throwing Toki across the room
Knocking Liu to the ground
Disabling the beasts

The node extinguishes.

Node Three DOWN.

The entire fortress shudders.

SCENE 5 — SHEN AWAKENS

Red alarms flare.
Walls shift.
Machines scream.
The storm above intensifies.

A voice echoes through the fortress:

Shen (amplified)
Impressive.
But futile.

A hologram of Shen appears in the chamber —
half-human
half-corrupted spirit entity
eyes burning green.

Shen
Did you think I would let the Heartwood fall so easily?

Toki rises, staff crackling.

Shen studies him.

Shen
Ah… the Guardian grows.
As did your mother…
right before she died.

Toki roars in fury.

TokiToki’s voice crackles through the communicator:

TokiToki (over comm)
TOKI—DON’T! It’s what he wants!

Shen smiles darkly.

Shen
Come find me, little Guardian.
The final spark awaits you.

The hologram shatters.

ACT III

SCENE 6 — REGROUP & REALIZATION

The teams reunite in a side tunnel as the fortress shakes violently.

Maya checks her tablet.

Maya
All nodes are offline.
His machine should be collapsing.

Kin shakes his head.

Kin
Not unless Shen intended for us to disable them.

Toki growls with realization.

Ranger Liu
A trap…?

TokiToki grabs Toki’s paw.

TokiToki
Guys…
The Great Tree said our bond was the target.

Maya looks at TokiToki, horrified.

Maya
He WANTS Toki to confront him alone.

Kin confirms quietly:

Kin
The Shattering Pulse needs two things:
A Guardian’s full power…
and the severing of the Guardian bond.

Maya whispers:

Maya
He’s trying to isolate Toki…

Toki and TokiToki look at each other —
the fear and love between them unmistakable.

Toki squeezes her hand tighter.

He won’t let it happen.

SCENE 7 — FINAL PASSAGE TO THE CORE

They reach a titanic root-lined archway.
The air hums with pure storm energy.

Kin steps back, shocked.

Kin
This is it.
The Core.
Where Shen merges spirit with storm.

Ranger Liu draws his ranger blade.

Ranger Liu
We go together.

The archway pulses—
and a barrier forms between Toki and the rest of the group.

TokiToki screams:

TokiToki
TOKI!!

Toki pounds the barrier.

TokiToki pounds back.

Kin tries spirit wind — fails.
Maya tries EMP — fails.
Ranger Liu tries brute force — fails.

Shen’s voice echoes:

Shen
Only the Guardian may enter.

Toki turns to TokiToki.

They press their foreheads to the barrier.

TokiToki whispers:

TokiToki
Please come back to me.

Toki places his paw over her hand.

His eyes glow with burning determination.

He turns.

Walks alone into the Core.

The barrier closes behind him.

SCENE 8 — CLIFFHANGER

INT. FORTRESS CORE – NIGHT

A massive chamber of swirling storm essence, corrupted spirit vines, and gigantic glowing machinery.

Shen stands at the center.
His body cracks with storm energy.
His face half-shadow, half-monster.

He smiles.

Shen
Welcome, Guardian.
Let us finish what began with your mother.

Toki raises his staff.

Lightning and emerald aura collide.

The entire fortress shakes—

Fade out on the first blows of their confrontation.
